People are often unaware of how important stretching is for good health.
Most people, nowadays, spend their time and energy working out and consider this to be taking good care of themselves.
Few realise that stretching is the cornerstone of a balanced physical fitness regimen.
The optimal physical experience is to feel relaxed and strong in your body, with a full range of movement.
And stretching is the secret.
Just ask any dancer, gymnast or martial artist.
Let’s get technical …
The musculature is like a suit of armour we wear over our skeletal system or skeleton. If the suit is too tight, you lose the ability to move freely and enjoy the benefits of your beautifully toned or sculpted body.
If the musculature is constricted, congested or inflexible in any way, there’s a risk that compression of the spinal column or major joints can result. This leads to stressed nerves, tension and, if not pain, discomfort.
Extending muscle length, not only adds to your range of motion, it also breaks down adhesions which can result from overexertions in your training session or workouts.
You can expect to gain maximum results by lengthening, rather than simply stretching your musculature.
To achieve this goal, Karen uses PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation). It’s the most effective way to reprogam your muscle memory.
It’s the ideal way to improve your overall enjoyment of your physical fitness.
